So before we get started, NO this is not a how to get from 5’11” to 6’. This is a part 2 if you will to my last post. As a matter of fact, If you haven’t already, go and check out my previous post titled Love to Fail. It is not a direct part 2 so you can finish reading this first and then go take a look. Growing as mentioned above doesn’t just mean physically but mentally, spiritually, emotionally and so on. You will hit some turbulence on the way but that is not just you! Everyone will experience that at some point in their life. So how does one GROW to get to where they want to be in life?

Yup, you guessed it. Here comes the acronym for GROW. With that being said, this acronym has been around for years unlike the acronym I created in FAIL from my last post. Ok OK OK so here is what it means and a little more into my thoughts on it.

Goal Setting:

Setting goals is cliche to say but that is because it is soooo important. If the target is fuzzy you can aim and hope to hit it but you are guessing. Sit down, create goals to help clear up that target. This includes making small and large goals. You need small goals not only to build your confidence but to also act as stepping stones to help get you to where you want to be.

Reality Assessment:

We have to be aware of our own reality. My own reality is different from your reality so we must take a step back, look at the obstacles, advantages and disadvantages in our own life. Once we can grasp the reality of our own situations, we are that much closer to getting to the life we want. This honestly may not feel too good. You might realize it may take a little longer to reach some of your goals because of your reality and THAT IS OK. We are all not the same. It is just a page/chapter in your book. Use that to fuel you!

Options:

Now that we have sat down and written our goals and assessed our reality, it is time to think about all of our options. You can ask yourself some questions to figure this out. You can ask questions to help with all of these steps honestly. For Options you would ask yourself questions like, What else could I do? What are the pros and cons? What else do I need to reach my goals? Where do I get it? Etc.

What to do or Will:

The last thing can also be achieved by answering questions. The Will comes in with this question; What exactly Will you do to reach your goal? How will you overcome your obstacles? Have you figured out all obstacles?

This is an outline that will take some time to work through to tailor it to you but we all have to start somewhere! No go out and be great!!
